To do well as the ASVAB word knowledge exam, you need to practice – a lot!
You cannot prepare for every eventuality. After all, there are simply too many words and phrases in the English language.
Effective preparation comes about by exposing your study to as many words, phrases and contexts as possible. Start to read daily – even if it’s just a newspaper. Try to keep a diverse range of reading topics, though, to maximize that exposure. If you don’t recognize a word or phrase, keep a pen / paper handy and make a note of it. Add those words / phrases to your study and keep going!
